Introduction

                                             Innovative work in teaching revolves around adopting creative student-centered approaches that enhance learning and engagement. It moves beyond traditional methods, integrating technology, inter disciplinary studies and active learning strategies to cater to diverse learning styles. This includes incorporating digital tools, such as interactive apps, virtual classrooms and multimedia resources to create a more dynamic and accessible learning environment.

 

                                              Innovative work also emphasises critical thinking, problem -solving, all collaboration, encouraging students to take an active role in their education.

 

Objectives

·       To motivate the students and increase their interest in the subject matter.

·       To  develop critical thinking skills, which helps to analyse a problem and solve it . This also helps to develop higher order thinking skills.

·       To make personalised learning experiences according to students’ need.

 

About the Work

 

Adaptation of the poem “ On Killing a Tree “by Gieve Patel into a one act play involves transforming the imagery and themes of the poem into a stage performance. This innovative work focusses on the poem’s narrative structure and the dialogues between the characters are developed according to this. This work reveals the poem’s intense meaning. The dialogues between the characters convey the hidden message in the poem.

When I used this work in the classroom, the students were actively participated and converted this work into a visual performance. This made the learning process more interactive.
